Csn I use a hard plastic core for a medium shield with eva foam covering it and can it be oval shape I'm not sure on the size as well and what size limits are there with it?
I see that there are 2 size limits with it from 36cm to 51cm.
Am I able to make a shield with a maximum of 51cm and 31cm wide
    Is that correct and safe?

As long as it is at least 36 cm, otherwise its not a medium shield, and as long as its not over 51 cm from point to point. As far as the core goes, you really dont need a hard core like the weapons. I am pretty sure king murdocks is all foam, and trust me, it does the job

Okay thanks I plan to have lots of eva foam on it and I don't plan to be shield hitting any one with it I mostly plan on using it with my bow on the same arm and hand

all our shields are just foam.

I've tried using a bow and a shield at the same time, it works way better in video games than in real life. The only reason it works ok in larp is because our bows are such light draw and the shields weigh almost nothing. It's an "artifact of the rules".

By Definition, you cannot use a Bow with anything Larger than a Buckler - Bow's are Technically 2 Handed Weapons, And therefore you would need the 2nd hand to Hold a Medium Shield.

Yeah what Wulfric said, what Indir said is the reasoning why. Now if you make a pavise like a Genoese crossbowman and move that plant it and shoot that would be cool. But you'd have to not be holding a large shield while loosing arrows.
