When poisoning someone with a blowgun, would it be possible to have the poison and its description wrapped around the dart instead of yelling the poison?

Getting anything to stick to a nerf dart is hard. Couple that with the fact of possible loss of said dart and possible night stuff calling it out works best. Feel free to write on it though and report back how it worked for you and your group.

in game terms how many poisons are there? Could there be a color code?

I think having different colored darts would be a really cool idea, and would make it really easy for people to know what kind of poison they have been hit with.
However, I think it would be difficult to actually color the darts, and it would be difficult to take a lot of darts with different colors. Maybe there could be two ribbons tied around the dart? One showing it is a poison and another signifying what kind of poison. For example: A dart poisoned with Mortal Wound poison would have a green ribbon (showing it is a poison) and a purple one (telling what kind of poison), Instant Death could be a green and an orange, so-on and so-forth.

mix food dye with white glue and water, I would think that a nerf dart dipped would take the color, fly and shoot the same

If you painted the actual dart, you would have to have multiple darts for different poisons. If you tied a ribbon around the dart, after you use it, you could untie the ribbon and poison it with a different kind of poison.

I would think having different darts would be better roleplay, but I guess that depends. Just try to brainstorm ideas. and keeping the darts flight true. (or as true as a nerf can be) lol

Could you attach the ribbon as some sort of tail? That might actually make it fly better.

Like, since nerf darts are foam, you could make a slit or split of some sort in the back, and then insert some sort of rubber or silicone band and glue it in. Then you'd have a loop sticking out the back to which you could tie a tag or ribbon.

I was thinking something more along the lines of tying the ribbons around the dart itself.

depending on how ribbon was attached I could see it help or hurt the flight of the dart. It may straighten the flight and shorten the range. Could be fun to experiment.

I have some spare ribbon so once the winds die down where I live I will test out a few ways of tying the ribbon to see how it works.
