Does the level cap at 500 000 points or do characters progress beyond that as normal?
500000 as I understand it is level cap
Technically, there is no "level cap".
However there are no more skill slots passed the 500k skill slot.
Afterwhich, you can still gain experience, but I believe Artenen Aeolus is using prestige to "level up" in a roleplay "Look what I did" kind of way
Correct, The system was designed to sorta max out at 500k XP as we didn't want a rulebook that was 500 pages... instead, it's thought that instead of players competing over "who has the most skills" the system was adjusted a few years ago to include prestige as "the final frontier" of this game. Prestige is earned, not bought. It comes from going to games and holding in-game titles. Essentially, prestige becomes the meat and potatoes because it's driven without end via the players, not the system or host. We're about the story over all else because otherwise we become too rules heavy and complex.
but but...i want new skills :(
no new skills for you :P ( yes I am being a pain)
but bit i want a siege engine...i wanna make a davinci tank
ok but can you make it Larp craft safe?
If so submit plans to Artenen since I would figure he would be the one to ok its usage;)
yeah but does that mean someone will have another magic bolt?
i will find a way
.....but I needs more skill slots :(
With advancing one character taking about a year per 100,000k without paying for exp it will take at least 5 years of coming once a week to get that high so pretty sure not much of an issue. After 5 years solid might want to try a different character. even with memberships still takes a fair while.
If you post and blog and write in charater you can rake in points.
But i'd love to see that level cap go away. Or at least go up to 60, or keep getting 2 skills per level for a few more levels than we have now. But.....i'd rather see us bring back classes. With merits and weaknesses that create party interdepemdece so people have to work together and make alliances to get people playing together and not just sluaghtering one another. I'd gladly take a hit on my abilities to get people playing together and makeing friends more.
omg dad this again. At least let me catch up to you, your a dang gawd dad. Yes i know you want siege engine skills, we dont' even have a siege engine......
your gonna build a siege engine now arent you
Class limitations limit diversity in cross skill training. Classes were nothing but complaining on a weekly bases if it was used in the skill tree. Now, classes can kick butt because they are part of the roleplay. Making classes is much like making a guild or heraldry BUT unlike those things, if a class has the name, lore and characters playing it, we could make unique class abilities to go along with it.
Pat is correct, where does one draw the line and have every skill in the game? Instead, we use prestige past the skills to signify a characters experience in Myrium. Prestige is just getting started and could be applied to a ton of different things. We've also talked about and Australia is testing real badges of merit so if you do something awesome at a game, you'll get a real life award for it (that you can't buy). Prestige is also something you can't buy.
Skills are to help set up the roleplay of a character. Most people think the roleplay is about gaining the skills... that's false.
A level 50 character can by pretty hard to kill as it stands, adding 10 more abilities will leave them with very few things they can't do. No character shall be unstoppable.
