This could be used by everyone! So many times garb needs mending.

Last time we went to a LARP, we noticed a very particular need... a need for the materials to mend and craft the many costumes people were running around in! Our solution: The Bag of Mending! A simple and portable bag with all you need to repair those rips and tears you may pick up along the way!

In ancient times, people mended their garments using a variety of techniques and tools. Some common methods included:

  1. Patching: This involved cutting a piece of fabric from another garment or scrap and attaching it to the damaged area using a needle and thread.
  2. Darning: This involved repairing holes in fabric by weaving new threads across the hole in a pattern.
  3. Sowing: This involved using a needle and thread to sew together two pieces of fabric that had become separated or torn.
  4. Hemming: This involved folding the edge of a piece of fabric under and sewing it in place to prevent it from fraying or unraveling.
In ancient times, people often used natural materials such as animal sinews, plant fibers, and bone for sewing. They also used needles made from bone, wood, or metal, and thread made from plant fibers or animal hairs.

Mending was an important skill in ancient times, as people did not have the resources to constantly replace their clothing. As a result, they took great care to maintain and repair their garments, and passed these skills down through the generations.
