The Light and the Dark

How it will look! The Light (Kirin) is 100% finished and I just started on the Dark (Sin-yu). I chose those two mythical animals to represent the light and dark because of their balance and how they fit into Japanese Mythology. The Kirin, while appearing sweet and innocent, is harsh and mean while bringing life around it. The Sin-yu, appearing rough and evil, is gentle as death follows it. Both are half dragon, the highest respected mythical being of almost all Asian mythos.

You're very welcome!~ I hope that you manage to find a good amount of free time to continue this marvelous piece. ^^ And have free time for yourself as well. X3

Well, considering my job is a combination of this and glass painting so it's coming along surprisingly fast! But free time, not sure what that is besides a few hours of gaming a night. ;)

That's a very cool profession!~ To be honest, it never really crossed my mind that it was a thing till now, but it sounds like it would be a fascinating process. And that's a pretty good use of free time to me. X3

Where do you think cartoons or nifty coffee mugs come from? :P It is really neat to see a piece of art come alive from your own hands, or to see a smile when seeing a painted cup with their favorite design on it and to know you made that smile happen at that moment. Few professions can claim such a feat.

Good to know!~ Heh, I'm glad that my coffee mug of plus five to perception came from such awesome people then. Mm, I've found that the arts in general can have that effect, along with bringing tears of joy and sadness, or provoke introspection for oneself. A marvelous thing indeed. ^^ I can't claim to have any outstanding skill with painting or shaping things with my hands, but I do like to see people's faces when I sing something for them. :)

Singing is an art form, falls under the Theatrical Arts and takes TONS of practice just to memorize a song, not to mention learning to hit the right notes and read sheet music! All it takes is a ton of dedication and practice. It's a learned skill more than talent.
    • Sparrow Neraida
Definitely, though like with everything, some have more success with it than others. I'm very grateful to have an affinity with singing, and song memorization. (Though I absolutely suck at remembering names...)

Forgetting names is common, I suck at names and numbers myself.
